RCA Pathways: Choose Your Robotics Industry Niche
The biggest traps in robotics are: what to learn, how to learn, and where to start.
We eliminate this issue by providing clear niches in robotics called RCA Pathways. Now you can focus on the right stuff and reap the rewards in 90-Days.
BUSINESS AUTOMATION
What is Business Automation?
Learn the tools, processes, and strategies to grow and scale mid-size businesses. Reduce waste, eliminate manual tasks, improve efficiencies, and use RPA software "bots" and "no-code" tools to land a role where your technical competencies are critical for business operations.
Level of Difficulty: 2/5
Professionals with a science, technology, or data background can pursue this pathway with limited background knowledge.
This pathway focuses on applied process automation.
There are thousands of repetitive, manual tasks in businesses today. The biggest problem is that when tasks are repetitive, they become error-prone.
That’s why businesses hire experts who can create software “bots”, automation, and no-code solutions to improve efficiencies.
If you’re interested in robotics, have a software background, and/or are interested in the business strategy side of robotics, then the Business Automation pathway is for you.
INDUSTRIAL ROBOTICS
What is Industrial Robotics?
Enter the world of automation, robot arms, PLCs/HMIs and Factory 4.0. In this pathway, you'll learn how to use robots for manufacturing applications. Walk away with the tools you need to program PLCs or Arms, and switch into leading a team of robots completing specific automated tasks.
Level of Difficulty: 3/5
Professionals should have a manufacturing or engineering background or expect to spend moderate time studying.
This pathway focuses on the application of robotics in manufacturing and factories: PLCs, HMIs, and Robot Arms.
Many manufacturing plants are preparing for Factory 4.0 — to do this, they need experts who can identify processes and create innovative manufacturing solutions leveraging automation and industrial robotics.
You will familiarize yourself with common automation brands including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, FANUC, ABB, and Universal Robots to create Factory Automation Processes.
Then, you will identify which roles make the most sense for your interests, backgrounds, and career goals.
If you’re interested in the side of robotics where you can be hands-on with robots, while solving some of the world’s largest supply chain and manufacturing challenges, then the Industrial Robotics Pathway is for you.
RESEARCH & INNOVATION
What is Research & Innvoation?
The latest in hi-tech robotics is our research & innovation pathway. You'll focus on Self-Driving Cars, Algorithms, and ROS in the Learn Robotics Research Lab. Supplement the theory of robotics with hands-on projects that you can leverage to land roles at leading Robotics Startups and Companies.
Level of Difficulty: 5/5
Professionals should expect to spend a generous amount of time studying, reading, and conducting research for both theories and applications in robotics.
This pathway focuses on the innovations that the world of robotics is seeing today. Think self-driving cars, navigation, path-planning, and robotics software engineering.
You’ll be leveraging industry best practices, simulation tools, and inspiration from university labs, to conduct a Learn Robotics Micro-Thesis on a robotics topic of your choice. Your Micro-Thesis becomes a launching point for your advanced degree, future business idea, or industry career at fast-moving startups and enterprise companies.
We’ll show you how to set up your robotics research lab at home (or wherever you like to work), and show you which courses, training, and tools will make the most impact on your studies.
If you’re interested in conducting applied robotics research where you mix robotics theory with practical applications across autonomous vehicles, software algorithms using Python/C++, and the Robot Operating System (ROS), then the Research & Innovation Pathway is for you.
